You guys know how eating healthy is actually usually more expensive than eating unhealthy? Well it can be extremely cheap if you follow the right steps. Here are 10 ways you can eat healthy with minimal spending!

Plan Your Meals

When it comes to saving money at the supermarket, planning is important.

  • Use one day each week to plan your meals for the next week, then make a grocery list of what you need.

  • Make sure to scan your fridge and cabinet to see what you already have. There is usually a lot of unused foods that you forgot about that can be used.

  • Only plan to purchase what you know you are going to use, so you don’t end up throwing away a lot of what you buy.

  • Stick to your grocery list and don’t simply buy things you don’t need!

    Buy From Pasar Instead

    Usually buying from the pasar is cheaper than going to the supermarket.

  • If you plan on doing your grocery shopping try to head down to the pasar to see what is on your list you can buy, it saves you a lot more money in the long run!

    Cooking at home is much cheaper than eating out.

    Make it a habit to cook at home, rather than eating out at the last minute.

  • Generally, you can feed an entire family of 4 for the same price as buying food for one or two people at a restaurant.

  • Some people find it best to cook for the entire week on the weekends, while others cook everyday, whichever one suits you better.

  • By cooking yourself, you also know exactly what is in your food, so you don’t end up eating junk.

    Cook Large Portions And Use The Leftovers

    Cooking larger meals can save you both time and money. 

  • Time in the sense that you don’t have to spend everyday cooking, and money is that you only need to use your oil and gas only once a week instead of everyday as well!

  • Leftovers can be used for lunches, in other recipes or frozen in single-portion sizes to be eaten later on.

  • Leftovers also usually make very good stews, soup, stir-fry, salad and wraps. These foods are great for people who are budgeting!

    If you buy your groceries while you’re hungry, confirm if you see something you like you buy buy buy. Then you spend much more than you intended, happens to most of us.

  • Before going shopping, try to eat something so you are not hungry and can be at a better mindset to be disciplined when shopping.
